The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved a revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) must publish the revised Form I-9 by November 22, 2016; in the meantime employers may continue to use the current form with a revision date of 3/08/2013 N until January 21, 2017.

 

In an effort to be more user-friendly and to reduce errors; it is expected that the new form may have “smart” features and will have several new features, such as real-time error message prompts, drop down menus and hover triggered instructional pop-up text boxes. Other changes will include new verbiage, formatting and reportedly will generate separate certification sections for each preparer to complete.

 

Once the revised Form I-9 is available, Paylocity will make the necessary changes to have it accessible to our clients.
