Going Green with Paylocity

online payroll

A Sierra Club member since college, Steve Sarowitz (Founder and Chairman) takes environmental issues seriously. When helping to design our corporate headquarters with our architects, Steve made certain every possible environmentally safe efforts were taken.

Our ceiling insulation is made of recycled paper, the carpet tiles throughout the building are made from recycled carpet and in-part to our all-glass exterior, our 23 watt indirect lighting throughout our space is sufficient. Additionally, our server room is 95% virtualized and our computer room is stocked with 80% efficient power supplies.

As always, Paylocity isn't resting on our laurels alone. A green team was instituted in 2007 and they too have been busy putting their great ideas to work. In addition to establishing a recycling program throughout the building, our green team began a yearly electronics recycling program whereby employees can bring in old monitors, computers and electronics for safe recycling purposes. Additionally, we've joined the "Adopt-a-Highway" program and recently received an award from the Arlington Heights Park District for our efforts in helping to clean and mulch local parks in the area.

"Environmental awareness is everyone's responsibility, says Steve Sarowitz, Founder and Chairman. It's one of the largest reasons we designed our own online payroll software (Paylocity Web Pay). Paperless payroll saves countless trees from becoming paper checks and paper reports. Currently over 50% of our existing clients and over 90% of our newer clients now receive their reports online using Web Pay. These clients have told us that aside from helping the environment, receiving reports online helps them reduce storage space, is more secure and allows them to access their reports more quickly. As we continue our green efforts, feedback like this is always good to hear."
