| 1. What should I do if I encounter a website impersonating a Paylocity website? If you come across a website impersonating a Paylocity website or a Paylocity web application, please send an email to Paylocity Security department (security@paylocity.com). | 4. What should I do if I receive a suspicious email which bears the Paylocity logo? Since an email "from" address can be easily spoofed, it is not a good indicator of authenticity. If you receive a suspicious email which bears the Paylocity logo, please err on the side of caution and do not click on any links in the email in question. Please forward the email to Paylocity Security department (security@paylocity.com) so we can investigate the matter further. |

5. What are some simple steps I can take to ensure that the Paylocity web application page in question is not a fake? Following is a short checklist any user can quickly follow to help avoid falling prey to a site impersonating a Paylocity web application:
- Step 1) Check the spelling of the website in the address/location bar. All legitimate Paylocity sites belong to 'paylocity.com' domain.
- Step 2) Make sure that the URL begins with 'https://'. The "s" indicates you are requesting a secure connection.
- Step 3) Check the "Green Bar" (see "Extended Validation Certificate"). Clicking on the "Paylocity Corporation [US]" section must display the official Paylocity headquarter location as:
"Paylocity Corporation
Arlington Heights, Illinois
US"
- Step 4) If you have previously setup your Security Image and passphrase, then entering your company ID and username should automatically display your custom image and passphrase. At this point it is fairly safe to enter your password and proceed with the login.
If any of these steps fail or yield suspicious results, consider using a different computer. Always err on the side of caution and if possible, try to use your employer provided computer to access Paylocity services. |
| 6. Where can I find more information on protecting myself from identity theft? To fight identity theft, more information can be found at the Federal Trade Commission website. |
