Backend Security Measures

1. Availability - Our entire infrastructure is designed with service availability as the goal. All aspects of our Web Applications infrastructure are designed with redundancy in mind. Any major upgrade is performed with ample notification to our customers, at off-hours to minimize service interruptions.

2. Monitoring & Support - Service availability is one of our top priorities. We actively monitor our Web Applications around the clock using automated techniques. Any concerning abnormal activity is responded to by an on-call live person. Product specific customer support is available between 7 AM - 7 PM CST from our trained Client Services team via email or phone. For more information, please see our Contact Us page.

3. Data Backup - All data from Paylocity Web Applications is backed up near real-time to our out of state disaster recovery facility. Periodically, data is also backed up to encrypted tapes and shipped off-site.

4. SAS 70 Compliant Data Centers - Paylocity data center has been SAS 70 compliant since 2005.

5. Secure Cookies - A cookie is a temporary file stored on the client computer containing information such as site preferences, session information, etc. Cookies can be stolen by malicious attackers, hence we never store any sensitive information in the cookies and cookies are always encrypted.

6. One-way Hash Password - All customer passwords are stored using a one-way hash in our database. One-way hash prevents anyone (including Paylocity employees) from viewing the clear text version of the password. This also implies that if a customer forgets his/her password, the password cannot be retrieved, but it can be reset to a new password (see Self-Service Password Resets).

7. Per-Page ACL Validation - Each page visit by an authenticated user results in a query to verify user rights, and only information the user is allowed to view is displayed.
