This is a small modification but changing the browser header color can add some cool uniqueness to any website. Its really easy to do and takes only a few minutes.

I’ve done it on this website to demonstrate the steps.

Step 1: Use an FTP client or you hosting providers file manager in cPanel to access the root folder for your WordPress site.

Step 2: Navigate to the header.php file within your theme or child theme (if you are using one):

public_html / wp-content / themes / YourThemeName / header.php

<meta name="theme-color" content="#66d180" />

The “#66d180” is the hex number for the color you have chosen. You will want to change this to whatever color you want the navigation header to display as.

If you have no idea how the hell to figure out the hex number and you don’t have Photoshop, go to w3school.com’s color picker and pick a color.

Step 3: Save the changes you’ve made to header.php and reload your homepage.

You should now have something similar to this:

change browser header color wordpres
