Position Overview

Software Test Engineers work with dedicated product teams to ensure that our products are delivered against our customers’ unmet needs. They are responsible for ensuring our software functions the way it is intended by creating testing plans, writing automated tests, performing manual ones and solving complex issues along the way. They work side by side with software engineers to improve overall software quality and recommend opportunities for improvement, take a feature from inception to delivery, leveraging testing best practices until it is fully automated.

  • During the first six months, you will:
  • Understand customer needs and business goals.
  • Often acts as the test lead for features or epics.
  • Be adept at creating and executing comprehensive test plans for small to medium SaaS product features while collaborating with Product owners/analysts/managers and other Engineers.
  • Analyze Production issues and regression bugs to identify and implement preventative measures.
  • Help your team bring value to our customers by doing manual test runs when needed and identifying gaps in our team testing flow.
  • Design a cleanly coded, comprehensive test automation framework for their team or product area.
  • Consider future testing needs when designing test automation.
  • Work with developers to create test harnesses that will enable test automation for hard-to-test features.
  • Understand and consider technical dependencies when creating test strategies.
  • Work within the scope of a team and participate in cross-team testing collaboration.
  • Perform regularly exploratory testing on the product to ensure a high-quality level of product releases
  • Solve testing issues.
  • Monitor state of quality, raising awareness, and resolution of gaps in quality.


Required Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with 2+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building automated testing frameworks from scratch using frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing UI automation tests for modern consumer facing web applications
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing API automated tests
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery integrations or tooling (Team City/Octopus Deploy)
  • Preferrable experience in writing MongoDB queries
  • Desire to work in a dynamic environment, constantly learn and grow
  • Strong sense of curiosity
  • Ability to work effectively in an agile and remote-first team environment

Physical requirements: 


Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day. 

Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
