September 16, 2019

Employees today want to stay at your company longer, but to do that, they are looking for opportunities to be developed. In fact, it can be the reason they stay or go.

In today’s modern workplace, employees are no longer satisfied with the status quo. To perform at a high level, they want to feel their company’s commitment to developing their role and industry-specific skills and knowledge. According to LinkedIn’s 2018 Workforce Learning Report, 93% of employees would stay at a company longer if it were invested in their careers.

With a tight labor pool and companies fighting for top talent, a company must stand out and ensure employees not only feel a connection to their organization, but also are set up for success so they can do their best work. Paylocity makes this a priority and as a result, lands on many Best Places to Work lists. Most recently, Paylocity was recognized as one of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For by the National Association for Business Resources, which evaluates employee engagement and recognizes companies staying innovative to maximize employees’ workforce potential.

Paylocity empowers its employees to own their engagement and development and gives them the tools to make it happen. To drive open dialogue and collaboration — integral to a winning company culture — employees use the Community tool to communicate with each other, regardless of location or department, helping to increase the employee connection. And it’s a two-way street. Managers and executives respond to employee questions or suggestions directly, allowing for transparency and open communication. And when needed, departments will ask for feedback using our Surveys tool to ensure employees have a say.

Providing employees with learning and development solutions can also have a positive impact. The same LinkedIn report states, “Talent developers are depending more on online learning solutions to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse, multi-generational workforce.” Paylocity’s Learning Management System (LMS) allows employees to drive their development through robust, interactive courses — often at their own pace or in partnership with their manager.

We use our technology to ensure our employees’ experience is second to none. From the way we have two-way conversations and ask for feedback on how we develop their skillsets, we aim to deliver an unparalleled partnership and experience to our employees and those of our customers. Having the right technology in place contributes to job satisfaction and ultimately helps a winning company retain its employees.
