Wage and Hour Division (WHD) set a new record for compliance assistance events in FY 2019, holding more than 3,700 educational outreach events.

In an October 28 press release, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that their Wage and Hour Division (WHD) recovered a record $322 million in wages owed to workers in Fiscal Year 2019. In addition, it said the WHD set a new record for compliance assistance events in FY 2019, holding more than 3,700 educational outreach events, including presentations and trainings. According to U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia, “The U.S. Department of Labor is committed to ensuring workers receive the wages they have earned.”

The record amount of wages recovered highlights the importance of submitting accurate payroll and remaining diligent in keeping up with the latest compliance changes and news.
