E-Verify Resumed Operations
On October 9, 2025, E-Verify announced they're resuming operations, including the following services:
- Enroll in E-Verify
- Create E-Verify cases
- View or take action on any case
- Resolve tentative non-confirmations (TNCs)
- Add, delete, or edit any user account
- Reset passwords
- Edit company information
- Terminate accounts
- Run reports or view any information about an account
- General customer support
Note: E-Verify also confirmed there will likely be longer than normal delays for customer support.
Creating Cases for New Hires
Employers who participate in E-Verify must create an E-Verify case by Tuesday, October 14, 2025, for each employee hired while E-Verify was not available.
You must use the hire date from the employee’s Form I-9 when creating the E-Verify case.
If you could not create an E-Verify case by the third business day after the employee began work for pay because E-Verify was unavailable, E-Verify will prompt you during case creation to provide a reason for the delay. Select “Other” from the “Select a Reason for Delay” drop-down menu, and enter “E-Verify not Available” as the specific reason in the “Reason for Delay” text box.
Note: The days E-Verify was unavailable will not count toward the three business days employers usually have to create a case in E-Verify.
Next Steps
As the federal shutdown is still ongoing, we expect delays in E-Verify processing time due to case backlog. Nevertheless, Paylocity will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. In the meantime, refer to the agency website for additional updates and information.
