This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. The Sr Manager, Data Privacy contributes to the success of Paylocity’s privacy program by identifying, assessing, and developing solutions to reduce privacy risks as part of a comprehensive and growing privacy program. This role will work closely with stakeholders from across the organization to champion consistent and effective data privacy practices, while minimizing privacy risk and ensuring the protection of personal information.

- Advance the privacy strategy and execute the privacy roadmap, including global regulatory alignment and operational maturity initiatives.
- Own and manage core privacy compliance programs such as Privacy-by-Design (PbD), data mapping & ROPA oversight, PII discovery and classification, and data retention, deletion, and anonymization workflows.
- Monitor evolving privacy laws and regulations and provide compliance-based recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day privacy operations, including DPIAs, privacy risk reviews, consent management, system inventory updates, and remediation tracking to ensure consistent, scalable, and auditable processes across the organization.
- Provide subject matter expertise across privacy programs, including data minimization, data lifecycle governance, third-party risk, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Ensure implementation and enforcement of privacy requirements, including data handling standards, third-party tracking and consent management, anonymization requirements, retention schedules, and deletion protocols.
- Partner with Legal, Security, Product, Engineering, HR, Marketing, and Operations to drive cross-functional remediation activities, improve privacy controls, and support readiness for audits and regulatory inquiries.
- Oversee governance of privacy workflows and supporting tools.
- Mentor and support privacy team members and privacy champions.
- Communicate project status, risks, and escalations to key stakeholders
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, law, cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, data science or related field of study (Masters degree or JD is a plus)
- 7+ years of experience in the field of privacy, legal or consulting with focus on privacy program management
- 3-5 years of people management experience.
- Privacy certification preferred (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT or CIPM).
- Extensive knowledge of US and global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CPRA, GLBA and HIPAA.
- Experience with privacy and security frameworks, such as GAPP and NIST.
- Hands-on experience with privacy management platforms such as OneTrust, TrustArc, or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with data-governance and engineering-adjacent tooling (e.g., PII discovery tools, data catalogs, or anonymization frameworks).
- Experience with workflow and issue-tracking systems, such as Jira and ServiceNow
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams, build consensus among stakeholders, and influence without authority
- Sound judgment and risk-based decision-making in complex environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
Physical requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
• Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $190,200 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
