Fully Remote (U.S. Only): This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.

Position Overview

The Manager Operations Programs is a leadership role tasked with coordinating a successful Operations focused Programs portfolio for Paylocity clients and employees. They demonstrate program leadership by leveraging strong program management experience, leadership, influence, communication and negotiation based on well-established stakeholder management abilities and strong collaborative working relationships. They are a proven leader who takes initiative to resolve complex issues across multiple disciplines. Additionally, this role functions as the go-to leader for all Year End initiatives, coordinating across internal and external teams to deliver a consistent, informed, and high-quality Year-End experience.

The Manager Operations Programs is primarily responsible for leading complex cross-functional programs and projects with minimal direction while ensuring an accurate and timely experience for our customers. Most often, programs and projects are related to Product Launches, Releases, Development Requests and Incidents. This includes but is not limited to managing through all aspects of a program including, but not limited to, Tax, Service, Support, L&D, Back office and Development work. In addition, they have experience with program scheduling, vendor management, resource management, financial management and stakeholder management. The programs will involve enterprise-wide initiatives aimed at improving multiple domains to achieve an accurate and timely project deliverables and experience for our customers while ensuring an effortless experience for our employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead plans and execution to ensure data integrity across Product Launches, Releases, Product  Development Requests (PDRs) and/or incidents throughout the intake, update, and resolutions. 
  • Leads the efforts to provide data, reporting and insights across the Organization related to managed programs, projects, and initiatives. 
  • A relied upon expert in Launches, Releases, Product Development Requests and/or incidents to contribute to the corporate project portfolio prioritization process.  
  • Manage a team by conducting individual meetings, leading group discussions, coaching team members, fostering development, offering feedback, taking corrective action for performance, and determining department priorities and fiscal year plan based on organization goals and initiatives. 
  • Regularly partner with other Knowledge Management leaders to determine best course of action based on the situation, risks, priorities, and resources. 
  • Consistently develop and deliver outstanding presentations to all types and levels of audiences. 
  • Skillfully facilitate critical meetings, including but not limited to senior stakeholders and program  
  • steering committee with senior executives. 
  • Identify and communicate issues, risks, and status to propose solutions, drive decisions and manage stakeholder expectations. 
  • Forecast resource demand and constraints across project deliverables and other prioritized projects. 
  • Negotiate conflict resolution and awareness of organizational dynamics. 
  • Work with Product Teams and Application Analysts to prioritize releases, fixes, updates, etc. as needed and communicate plans to Operations to ensure readiness and agree upon necessary actions, dates, etc.  
  • Provide oversight and team support in representing Operations in incidents and escalations with a special focus on leading or supporting team in leading Year End and Quarter End processes to ensure accurate planning, cross-functional alignment, and effective communication . 
  • All other projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of management experience. 
  • 3+ years of project management and process improvement experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Six Sigma Lean methodology training and experience. 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a customer service focused organization. 
  • Ability to think and act strategically across multiple business, technology, and program delivery concepts. 
  • Demonstrated experience as a Program Manager leading multiple cross functional business and technology implementations with limited reliance on direct manager. 
  • Ability to independently develop and deliver effective presentations with executive management. 
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders. 
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational awareness skills. 
  • Outstanding problem-solving ability. 
  • Experience working with payroll or HCM software. 
  • Thorough understanding of HCM, tax or payroll service provider operations. 
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; specifically, program/project management software (MS Project etc.). 

Physical requirements 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day. 
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $93,600 - $120,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
