As part of the Sales & Marketing team, you’ll help us solve challenges and succeed as you grow and understand the unique needs of our clients and tailor easy-to-use solutions to deliver the performance they need.
With a position in Sales & Marketing, you’ll strengthen our relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and think outside the box to unlock new possibilities.
This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring 1 - 3 workdays per week in the office at our Schaumburg, IL location and the remaining days remote each week. The in-office days are subject to business needs. Candidates must be able to commute to the office as required. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.
Position Details
The Senior Customer Marketing Specialist, Brand & Marketing works with our happiest and most forward-thinking clients to create and share client stories to support our sales and marketing efforts. The role will drive engagement with our Client Advocacy program members by nurturing and activating client advocates to differentiate Paylocity and highlight the successes and experiences of our clients. This person will be a superb relationship builder, an amazing storyteller, and an excellent project manager. The primary focus of the position is to ensure Paylocity is telling its story through the client's voice and then sharing that story across a variety of channels and mediums.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships and rapport with Paylocity clients to increase participation in the Client Advocate Program and identify mutually beneficial client evidence and story activities such as case studies, videos, speaking opportunities, media interviews, sales references, and more
• Own end-to-end development of case studies, from story sourcing and interviews through writing, review, approvals, and cross channel activation.
• Maintain segmented database (SlapFive Customer Marketing Platform) of client advocates, including level of activity, preferences, and client satisfaction with the program
• Lead review site management for third-party review platforms such as G2, TrustRadius, Gartner Digital Markets, Gartner Peer Insights, and others as needed, including review campaigns, profile management, reporting, and content activation & tracking across Paylocity channels
• As part of the review strategy, drive sustained growth in high-quality client reviews, improve Paylocity’s competitive positioning within priority categories, and translate review content into sales and marketing impact.
• Develop and report on KPIs to measure program effectiveness and ensure key story needs are fulfilled (industry, segment, competitor, use case, etc.)
• Identify new and creative ways to encourage client reviews by working with cross-functional partners in service, implementation, and sales
• Proactively identify potential stories with sales, service, and implementation teams to help keep story pipeline fresh
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years' experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or customer marketing
• Superb written and oral communication skills
• Passion for storytelling and a nose for news
• Ability to collaborate and engage with client contacts at multiple levels on calls and in-person
• Willingness to cultivate business relationships with clients to ensure participation and activation of the stories
• Experience collaborating cross-departmentally to align expectations and achieve results
• Project and/or program management experience
• An appetite to prove outcomes over activities
• Client Reference Platform (SlapFive, etc.) experience preferred
• Salesforce CRM experience preferred
• SaaS marketing experience preferred

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may be eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
