Position Overview
The Senior Financial Data Analyst independently plans, leads, and executes advanced analytics projects that have a strategic impact on Paylocity’s revenue growth, operational efficiency, and client experience. This role partners closely with executives, directors, and key stakeholders to provide data-driven guidance for sales enablement and operational initiatives, ensuring tools, processes, and insights align with organizational goals. The analyst performs enhanced reporting and deep analysis of data from various data sources, identifying trends, strengths, and areas of opportunity. Leveraging advanced modeling and visualization techniques, this role establishes prescribed, executable strategies that maximize sales productivity, improve operational efficiency, and inform high-level decision-making.

• Independently lead analytics projects that influence executive decisions, such as optimizing territory assignments or identifying churn risk for high-value accounts.
• Partner with senior leadership to define KPIs and reporting frameworks that align with corporate growth objectives.
• Meets regularly with the leadership team to report on current and pending reporting requests, present analysis results, and discuss areas of opportunity for productivity improvement.
• Performs independent analysis and leads projects by identifying a business opportunity, evaluating data, modeling and communicating final insightful analytical results to leadership that drive strategic decisions.
• Develop predictive models and financial forecasts using SQL, Python/R, and BI platforms to support strategic planning and scenario analysis.
• Apply advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques for trend analysis and revenue forecasting.
• Design and implement automated reporting systems and dashboards leveraging Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, and cloud data platforms
(Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
• Ensure scalability and accuracy of data pipelines to support enterprise-level analytics.
• Lead cross-functional analytics projects from concept to deployment, applying Agile methodologies and ensuring measurable ROI.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors, providing input on technology roadmaps and adoption strategies.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance data integrity and streamline workflows.
• Drive adoption of new tools and processes through stakeholder engagement and training.
• Provide technical guidance to junior analysts, establish standards for data governance, and foster a culture of analytics excellence across the organization.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, or sales operations within a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
• Expertise in SQL, Python/R, Tableau, Power BI, and advanced Excel modeling; experience with ERP/CRM systems and strong relational database skills (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.) preferred.
• Strong understanding of sales processes, operational metrics, and financial modeling.
• Proven ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and deliver insights that drive strategic outcomes.
• PMP or Agile certification a plus.
Physical requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long
periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
• Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The pay range for this position is $65,300-$105,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
