This is a 100% in-office role based at our Schaumburg, IL location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.
Position Overview
The Manager Data Conversion plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of high-quality Data Conversions. This role involves managing a team, overseeing employee training, and upholding Paylocity's standards. The Data Conversion Manager collaborates closely with Implementation Managers, providing valuable insights into staff performance, data-related issues, and strategies for departmental enhancement. By working alongside the Director, the Manager contributes to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and optimizing tool utilization. The Manager is responsible for identifying training gaps, enhancing performance, and fostering a positive work culture.

- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Data Conversion team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team leaders.
- Empower Team Leads to effectively develop and motivate their teams, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
- Drive alignment of tools and processes across Data Conversion teams through well-executed initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement adjustments for organizational effectiveness.
- Initiate and oversee process improvement projects aimed at boosting operational efficiency and minimizing defects.
- Maintain consistent policies and procedures by partnering with other departments within the organization.
- Coordinate with the Internal Training department to assess and manage employees' training needs and bridge any gaps.
- Ensure up-to-date documentation and tools for Data Conversion and internal training purposes.
- Design and implement employee motivation programs and incentives to drive engagement.
- Address disciplinary matters when needed, providing guidance and coaching.
- Offer constructive feedback to employees, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement.
- Cultivate opportunities for self and team development within the framework of corporate goals and values.
- Collaborate with the Department Director to allocate and manage resources effectively.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, fostering strong relationships from day one.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages open communication, learning, and recognition in line with organizational values.
- Demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day responsibilities, showcasing agility in response to evolving needs.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience.
- Proficiency in Project Management and/or Change Management.
- Experience with evaluating, implementing, and utilizing ETL tools.
- Process improvement mindset to the required section as part of a dealbreaker
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in programming and/or product management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Payroll Implementation.
- Excellent proficiency in Access, Excel, and SQL.
- Demonstrated mindset for Process Improvement.
- Six Sigma experience.
- Familiarity with various payroll applications.
- Background in team development and workflow processes within a matrix environment.
Physical requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
- Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $89,300 - $127,600 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
