As part of the Sales & Marketing team, you’ll help us solve challenges and succeed as you grow and understand the unique needs of our clients and tailor easy-to-use solutions to deliver the performance they need.

With a position in Sales & Marketing, you’ll strengthen our relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and think outside the box to unlock new possibilities.

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or a location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.

Position Overview

Solutions Consultants I (SCIs) are a crucial part of Paylocity’s sales organization, driving a large portion of our revenue. In this position, SCIs must have a passion for technology and service while partnering with Service, Current Client Consultants and Inside Sales partners to win business together. SCIs are self-motivated, collaborative, and persuasive individuals whose primary responsibility is to uncover challenges current clients face while positioning Paylocity’s solutions to fill those needs.

Primary Responsibilities

Knowledge and Applications:

  • Participates and assists with the demonstration, which allows the team to quantify the impact of the change and clearly align requirements, opportunities, and objectives from the customer.
  • Conducts an engaging, concise, and tailored product demonstration while tying back information learned in the analysis call to establish the buyer connection to help win/maintain the business.
  • Responsible for in-depth knowledge of all Paylocity’s suite of products.
  • Keeping current with all product releases and enhancements. Understand the features & functionality, value proposition, and how they will drive growth and revenue.
  • Establishes credibility by communicating clear and detailed solutions to clients regarding the Paylocity products, processes, and timelines.

Complexity & Problem Solving:

  • Assists internal partners with some functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Analyzes client challenges and provides innovative and effective solutions tailored to their specific needs.

Discretion and Impact:

  • Ensures all interactions with internal partners maintain the highest standard of
  • professionalism and support Paylocity's long-term strategic goals.
  • Prioritizes client satisfaction and retention by delivering solutions that address their unique needs.

Collaboration and Interaction:

  • Identifies and documents clients’ needs and coordinates with internal teams (e.g. custom programming, custom reports, integrations, etc.) to develop alternative solutions that can be presented to a client.
  • Recommends helpful and creative ideas based on market, product, and competitive knowledge.
  • Participates at conferences, tradeshows, and other events.
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Product Advisors, Product Development, OPPs, and Release Management and providing input and feedback when appropriate.

Education and Experience

  • Is self-motivated with a proven track record in working with a fast-paced sales force or service organization.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written or verbal conversations
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • 2-3 years of HCM industry experience in sales or an operations role is required
  • Experience and familiarity of Paylocity products is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move around the office and interact with colleagues as needed.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and copiers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and email.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 5 pounds as needed (e.g., moving office supplies or small packages).
  • Ability to bend, reach, or stoop as needed to access file cabinets, office equipment, or other resources.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at a desk or workstation for extended periods of time, including using a computer or writing.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including by car, plane, or other forms of transportation.

The base pay range for this position is $55,700 - $93,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for our variable commission plan and an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
