Paylocity is Family

February 04, 2026

Love has a way of finding its place at Paylocity through relationships that begin at work, grow through life’s biggest moments, and are supported by a community that truly shows up. Brent's journey is a reminder that caring for people is more than a value here and is lived every day.

When I was hired at Paylocity in May 2019, there’s no way I could’ve predicted the impact it’d have on my life.

Five months in, on a client success story video shoot in Cleveland, I met my now wife — Alissa — who started at Paylocity five years before me. We initially bonded over our shared love of Hall & Oates, and while we got to know one another in the months that followed, that intensified when the world shut down in March 2020.

As quarantine partners, Alissa made me a reality TV convert, while I introduced her to the fandom of my favorite sports teams. We discovered we both enjoyed sour beers, which we picked up curbside at our favorite breweries. We got COVID-19 a few days apart, and relished our 14 days of isolation, as we binged shows and ate nice meals I couldn’t taste.

We got a house together in 2021, and two years later, when I asked Alissa to marry me and she said yes, there was only one person for that job.

I’d worked with Scott Tracy a few years earlier in Indianapolis. When he hired me as part of the new Multimedia team at Paylocity, he saved me from the most toxic work environment of my life and brought me into a positive culture that I couldn’t have imagined before. Scott was also on that trip to Cleveland when Alissa and I met, and a force for good beyond measure in our lives inside and outside of work. As our marriage officiant, he was flawless, as he weaved my and Alissa’s stories together.

On Feb. 28, 2025, the world lost Scott tragically. The pain for Alissa and I was unrelenting, as it was for many at Paylocity who were equally impacted by Scott. The support we all received from leadership at every level of the organization helped us get through it together, and today, the Scott Tracy Studio in Schaumburg — which he built from scratch — is a monument to his legacy.

At 6:03 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2025 — Alissa’s birthday — we welcomed Delaney June Glasgow into the world, two months early. We had no idea it was coming. There’s no class that prepares you for that fear and uncertainty. At 3 lb., 12 oz., we didn’t get to hold her — only look at her through a sheet of protective plastic for an instant before she was placed in an incubator and hooked up to a ventilator.

Once news reached our colleagues and friends throughout Paylocity, we were overwhelmed by the messages of congratulations and support, and the generosity of those who sent us Amazon and Door Dash gift cards.

We eventually got to spend time with Delaney, and after 31 days of visiting her in neonatal intensive care, she came home on Jan. 28. While her PCTY beanie is a little big, we look forward to when she can meet the many Paylocity folks both locally and across the country that we consider family.

This doesn’t happen everywhere. Paylocity and its people are special. Our story is living proof.
