Product Manager II- Accounting Platform
Paylocity is an award-winning provider of cloud-based HR and payroll software solutions, offering the most complete platform for the modern workforce. The company has become one of the fastest-growing HCM software providers worldwide by offering an intuitive, easy-to-use product suite that helps businesses automate and streamline HR and payroll processes, attract and retain talent, and build a strong workplace culture.
While traditional HR and payroll providers automate basic HR processes such as payroll and benefits administration, Paylocity goes further by developing tools that HR and businesses need to compete for talent and deliver against the expectations of the modern workforce.
We give our employees what they need to succeed, including great benefits and perks! We offer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and a 401(k) match, as well as perks that support you, your family, and your finances. And if it’s career development you desire, we provide that, too! At Paylocity, people matter most and have always been at the heart of our business.
Help Paylocity enhance communication and enable employees to connect, collaborate, and create from anywhere with a position in Product & Technology!
Want to develop the strategies and principles needed to deliver compelling software? Join our team and help us enhance our all-in-one software platform, elevate our one-of-a-kind technology, and improve the employee experience.
Most software providers focus on either the CHRO or the CFO. Paylocity is building for both.
This creates a unique opportunity to redefine how organizations manage their people and their spending through a unified platform. By connecting workforce and financial data, we help customers make better decisions, automate critical business processes, and drive greater operational efficiency.
As part of our Product & Technology organization, you'll help shape products that sit at the intersection of HR, Finance, Payments, and Enterprise Software. You'll work on complex customer problems, influence product strategy, and help define the future of an integrated platform serving two of the most important functions within every organization.
If you're excited about building products that create measurable customer impact, solving challenging workflow problems at scale, and helping shape a category that bridges HCM and Office of the CFO solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
Position Overview
The Product Manager 2 for the Accounting Platform sits at the center of how our integrations get built, run, and scaled. You will own the integration surface area that connects our accounting platform to partner implementation teams, internal product squads, and downstream consumers. The goal is simple: make integrations predictable, reusable, and low-friction so finance workflows run reliably and new use cases ship faster.
Integration work across the accounting platform spans flat file pipelines, configuration and object management, and cross-product consumption. Each comes with its own cadence, escalation paths, and operational overhead. You will bring coherence to all of it. That means setting a strong operating rhythm with our partner implementation team, codifying configuration patterns, and enabling other product teams to consume accounting platform modules with minimal lift.
You will run a focused roadmap end-to-end, from discovery through delivery and iteration. The role rewards sharp product instincts, operational discipline, and the soft skills to navigate a cross-functional environment where strong relationships drive strong outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
The list below covers the core responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed, and reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Own the accounting platform integrations across customers and partners as the central product point of contact for our partner implementation team. Make sure opportunities get scoped, prioritized, and closed predictably.
- Define patterns, guardrails, and lifecycle management that keep configuration changes safe and easy to operate at scale.
- Enable cross-product consumption of accounting platform modules. Partner with other product teams to make integration paths clear, reusable, and well-supported, reducing time-to-integration and replacement risk for adjacent products.
- Establish the operating cadence with the partner implementation team. This includes SLAs, callbacks, escalation paths, and joint working rhythms that keep delivery predictable.
- Serve as the interface between the partner implementation team and internal engineering and product squads. Translate requirements in both directions and remove friction in day-to-day execution.
- Define and track product health metrics such as time-to-integration, SLA adherence, escalation volume, and adoption. Use them to guide prioritization and demonstrate impact.
- Standardize and document patterns, configuration playbooks, and operating procedures so internal teams and partners can self-serve with minimal handholding.
- Run ongoing discovery using operational signals like usage data, escalations, partner feedback, and performance trends. Use what you learn to close gaps and improve the integration experience over time.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5 years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, or an accounting and finance platform context.
- Operational product management is your core strength. You are energized by tightening cadences, closing escalation loops, and making cross-team execution feel boringly predictable.
- Exceptional soft skills and stakeholder navigation. This role lives at the intersection of multiple teams, and your ability to build trust and resolve friction matters as much as your product instincts.
- Strong fluency in integrations concepts including flat files, APIs, configurations, object models, and event-driven patterns. You can translate technical complexity into clear, simple operating models.
- Familiarity with the existing accounting ERPs, finance platforms, or payroll ecosystem is a strong plus.
- A bias for documentation, repeatability, and clear ownership. You default to written playbooks and DRI-style accountability over ad hoc coordination.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity while maintaining executional rigor. You can hold a roadmap steady even when the environment around it is shifting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or workstation, typically for most of the workday.
- Ability to operate a computer, participate in video calls, and use common productivity and communication tools.
