This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements.  You must be available five days per week during designated work hours.  The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.

 

Product Marketing Manager – Office of the CFO 

As a Product Marketing Manager for the Office of the CFO, you will collaborate across Paylocity to develop and launch compelling go-to-market strategies specifically targeted to finance leaders and their teams. We are looking for a seasoned product marketer who understands the financial technology landscape, particularly from the perspective of CFOs, Controllers, and other finance leaders. In this role, you will deeply influence sales enablement initiatives, driving higher win rates and empowering our sales teams with impactful, persona-driven messaging and content. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Define core messaging & positioning: Develop and refine differentiated value propositions, competitive positioning, and compelling messaging tailored specifically to CFOs, Controllers, and finance leaders, leveraging market insights, competitive intelligence, and direct feedback from the field. 
  • Lead sales enablement initiatives: Create, manage, and continuously optimize sales enablement materials (pitch decks, one-pagers, competitive battle cards, sales playbooks) that clearly articulate Paylocity’s value to finance leaders. Partner closely with Sales and Enablement teams to ensure consistent delivery of messaging, increase sales productivity, and drive greater win rates. 
  • Champion competitive intelligence: Take a proactive role in understanding our competitive landscape. Equip Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams with actionable insights to effectively differentiate Paylocity’s solution from competitors, influencing win rates and customer retention. 
  • Own product launch strategy: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of product launches and enhancements targeted at finance personas, from initial strategy and messaging through to internal enablement and external communications. 
  • Voice of the client & market insights: Actively gather, analyze, and leverage field feedback, client insights, and industry trends to shape and inform strategic messaging, positioning, and content creation. 
  • Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate and build strong relationships with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to align strategies, inform product roadmaps, and ensure consistency in the client experience. Continuously measure, optimize, and communicate performance metrics. 
  • Internal evangelism: Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the needs, challenges, and aspirations of finance teams. Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to marketing leadership and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and excitement around our finance solutions. 

Education and Experience: 

  • 5+ years of B2B product marketing experience in SaaS, with specific experience in finance-related solutions preferred 
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Finance, Accounting, Technology, or a related field 
  • Proven track record in leading sales enablement initiatives and delivering measurable improvements in sales productivity and win rates 
  • Experience developing messaging and positioning targeted specifically to CFOs, Controllers, and finance teams 
  • Strong ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex financial processes and technology solutions 
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Enablement 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating compelling content across various formats 
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making, and comfort using analytics to inform strategy 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, sales enablement tools (e.g., Highspot, Klue) 
  • Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of marketing KPIs and experience in setting and achieving performance goals

The base pay range for this position is $88,600 - $125,500/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for our variable commission plan, annual bonus, and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
