ABOUT THE ROLE:


The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of advanced identity and access management data, processes, and technologies. This role will work closely with various departments such as Information Security, HR, and IT Compliance, to ensure quality of identity data, the establishment of data standards, and the appropriate access levels are granted to users in a timely, secure, and compliant manner, focusing on automation wherever possible. The IAM Analyst will help produce documentation, procedures, and any necessary materials to support IAM services.


The IAM Analyst will positively impact Paylocity’s operations and culture by delivering exceptional IAM service comprehensively and consistently across the organization. The ideal candidate will proactively identify opportunities, collaboratively develop solutions, and deliver results with a high degree of ownership and accountability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Strategic and Governance Support

  • Contribute to IAM roadmap planning, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for IAM capabilities.
  • Support governance activities such as periodic reviews, risk assessments, and policy updates.

Business Analysis and Process Design

  • Gather, analyze, and document IAM requirements from business and technical stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and use cases.
  • Analyze and optimize identity lifecycle processes (onboarding, transfers, terminations, and access reviews) to improve automation, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Support role modeling and design, ensuring alignment with business functions and least-privilege principles.

Automation and Integration

  • Work with IAM engineers to identify opportunities to automate IAM workflows (e.g., provisioning, deprovisioning, role assignments).
  • Support integration efforts between IAM platforms and enterprise systems (HR, ITSM, ERP, etc.).
  • Participate in testing and validation of automated IAM processes and controls.

Change Management and Awareness

  • Support change management and communication efforts related to IAM process or tool updates.
  • Assist in developing user training materials and awareness campaigns to promote IAM best practices and proper access request behaviors.

Operational and Compliance Support

  • Help triage and resolve IAM-related tickets, partnering with dedicated support resources or end-user computing (EUC) teams where applicable.
  • Assist in quarterly User Access Reviews (UARs) – from data collection and validation to review facilitation — until full automation is achieved.
  • Maintain documentation of IAM processes, workflows, and data flows for audit and compliance readiness (e.g., SOX, GDPR, NIST).

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with business stakeholders during role design, access review cycles, or process changes.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure IAM solutions meet organizational and user needs.

Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Development

  • Stay up to date with IAM technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements, recommending enhancements to IAM strategy.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.

SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, governance, and      compliance.
  • Experience with IAM tools (Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint, Saviynt, Ping, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, document, and improve IAM business processes.
  • Familiarity with automation, integration, and incident management workflows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Cybersecurity, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT, Security, or IAM.
  • Certifications (preferred but not required): CIAM, CISSP, CBAP, ITIL

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $55,900 - $103,900/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
