What’s New Blog | September 2026

The latest updates help you build more flexible processes and get more done with less friction.

In September, we rolled out more flexible and faster Workflows with multi-company and non-employee support, and simpler onboarding plus faster card setup for Paylocity for Finance.

Workflows

Create More Flexible, Personalized Workflow Notifications

New workflow notification options give admins more control over when notifications are sent, what the message says, and who receives them. Add a dedicated notification step at any point in a workflow, customize the message, and send it to workflow participants, people outside the approval chain, or external email addresses. Admins can also enable an automatic notification to keep the right people informed when a workflow is complete.

Add, remove, or update positions in Workflows

Increase organizational flexibility with additional positions in workflows. HR administrators can now add, edit, or delete an employee’s additional positions directly within the Positions Workflow task. This makes it easier to manage employees who work in more than one role while keeping the primary position as the source for payroll and compliance-related data. Admins can capture approvals up front, reduce manual follow-up in the Person Record, and better align position changes with real-world staffing needs.

Assign Workflows to Multi-Company Admin and Non-Employees

Multi-Company Admins and non-employee users can now be directly assigned workflow tasks across their company set, reducing the need to create duplicate employee accounts in each child company. With new workflow participation and notification support, these users can more easily stay on top of assigned tasks, reduce missed steps, and manage work across companies more efficiently.

Finance

Simplify Spend Management Onboarding

Spend Management onboarding is now easier to navigate with a new module-based onboarding checklist. Instead of following one linear setup path, clients can now view onboarding tasks by purchased module, like Expense, Corporate Cards, or AP to track progress and see when each module is ready to use. This helps teams complete setup more efficiently, reduce back-and-forth during implementation, and start using completed modules sooner.

Corporate Cards

Streamline Corporate Card Connectivity

We've made it easier to connect corporate card transaction data to Paylocity through Global Endpoint support for Visa and Mastercard. This enhancement standardizes how transaction feeds are enabled, helping reduce the back-and-forth often required during setup and creating a more consistent onboarding experience for Direct Card Expense clients with Physical Card Feeds. Once enabled by the issuer, transaction data is routed automatically to the correct company, supporting faster activation, fewer manual steps, and a more scalable foundation for corporate card programs.
