April 2026 releases: AI-powered search, enhanced compensation insights, increased headcount visibility, and more.

As we move deeper into 2026, the conversation has shifted from whether to adopt AI to how to use it responsibly — while keeping up with expanding pay transparency and compliance requirements. Organizations expect AI to be further integrated into HR this year, but many are still working to balance efficiency, governance, and trust as these tools increasingly touch hiring, pay, and employee data. 

In April, Paylocity released features ranging from AI-powered search to enhanced compensation insights, headcount visibility, and more — all of which help HR, Finance, and IT teams turn innovation into confident, well governed action.

Easily and quickly find people, pages, documents, and key actions across the platform. Search is now centralized on Home and more tightly integrated with the AI Assistant for faster answers and less time navigating. 

Market Pay

Benchmark pay with trusted, more detailed market data 

Market Pay now uses SALARY.COM® as its data source, providing you with trusted, defensible pay insights directly within Paylocity. Access more granular and precise compensation data, including visibility into career level and years of experience along with more detailed segmentation by geography, industry, and company size.  Make faster, more confident pay decisions without file imports, syncing issues, or additional vendors to manage. 

Headcount Planning

Keep hiring aligned to approved headcount 

Connect approved headcount plans to recruiting requisitions and carry key job details from Headcount Planning into Recruiting, automatically improving visibility for HR, Recruiting, and Finance.

Expense Management 

Automate spending and approvals

Automatically convert invoice units to match purchase orders to reduce manual work, prevent mismatches, and speed up bill processing with clearer, more accurate validation. 

Add attendees to credit card expense reports for group spend like team meals, client meetings, or events. This feature, also available on the mobile app, makes it easier to provide justification for larger expenses.

Human Resources

Simplify Person Record changes while staying compliant 

Manage person records more efficiently and support compliance by processing employee status changes directly in the Person Record to reduce clicks and save time.  Employees can also now designate emergency contacts authorized for arrest or detention situations – supporting California requirements.

Punch eligibility in the time widget on Home provides clear, in-the-moment alerts and notifications that help employees avoid invalid punches — reducing rejections, saving time, and supporting labor compliance.

Customize reward badges with preset reward amounts and permissions to support team-specific rewards programs — without added approvals or administrative delays. Managers can instantly recognize behaviors aligned with team goals, while preset reward values help employees understand expectations and give leaders confidence that rewards remain fair, consistent, and within budget across teams.

Customize engagement surveys

Add up to 10 company-specific questions to capture feedback unique to your organization in Engagement and Pulse surveys while keeping the validated questions intact for consistent measurement. Responses are grouped into a new Company Feedback section for trend analysis, heatmap views, and action planning.

Manage Scheduling on the go 

Easily manage your schedule with our enhanced Mobile Calendar, featuring clear day, week, and month views, smarter filtering, and company events. RSVP directly to events within the calendar and quickly see company moments like birthdays and anniversaries to stay connected on the go.

Simplify compensation planning 

Paylocity’s new integration with Aeqium helps streamline compensation planning by automatically syncing employee data from Paylocity into the Aeqium platform. With access to current employee data, teams can reduce manual spreadsheet work, improve data accuracy, and support more efficient compensation planning.
