About the Role 

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Group Product Manager (GPM) to lead our Data Engineering product portfolio. You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data infrastructure, pipelines, and platforms that enable scalable and reliable data delivery across the organization. This role bridges engineering and business teams and will work cross-functionally with data engineers, analysts, software developers, and other product teams to build data products that support analytics, machine learning, and operational needs. 


Key Responsibilities 

Product Leadership: 

  • Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for the data engineering platform, including data pipelines, ETL      frameworks, data lakes/warehouses, and governance tooling. 
  • Lead a team of product managers focused on individual data platform components. 
  • Partner with engineering leadership to prioritize initiatives and manage technical trade-offs. 

Strategy and Execution: 

  • Develop a clear strategy for scaling and modernizing data infrastructure to support company growth. 
  • Champion data engineering best practices including observability, data quality, security, and lineage. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with stakeholders from analytics, data science, finance, and product teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Collaborate with Data Governance, InfoSec, and Compliance to meet regulatory and privacy requirements. 

Technical Acumen: 

  • Understand core data engineering      concepts including batch and streaming architecture, data modeling, orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster), and platforms like Spark, Kafka, or Snowflake. 
  • Serve as a thought partner for engineering in technical architecture discussions and vendor/tool evaluations. 

Team Development: 

  • Mentor and grow a team of data product managers, fostering a culture of customer focus, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with 3+ years managing or leading teams. 
  • Strong technical background, preferably with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated success managing data infrastructure or data platform products. 
  • Experience with modern data stacks (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, etc.). 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Experience forecasting cost increases based on the roadmap and making tradeoff decisions to meet customer needs while staying within budget. 
  • Passion for building foundational systems that unlock value across the company. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior experience as a data engineer or software engineer. 
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data architecture (AWS, GCP, or Azure). 
  • Experience with data privacy and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). 
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries.
