The editors of Forbes have recognized Paylocity as one of The Best Employers for Diversity 2023. This is the second year in a row Paylocity has ranked for its leadership and commitment toward building a more inclusive workplace.

The Forbes Best Employer Diversity list is based on results from a survey of 45,000 people who ranked their employers on topics such as age, gender and LGBTQIA+ equality. Companies were also evaluated on diversity among top executives and board members.

“When we talk about diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, we’re encouraging employees to bring their whole selves to work. These are things we’ve cemented into the foundation of who we are,” said Tauhidah Shakir, Chief Diversity Officer at Paylocity. “We don’t just say the words – we act on them with listening, policies, and actions, as well as developing solutions that enable our clients to do the same.”

Paylocity’s HR and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) teams focus on cultivating the most inclusive workplace culture possible, to ensure all employees feel valued and respected, that their voices matter, and that they can be their authentic selves.

Some Recent DEIA Milestones

"Get Counted"

Our second-annual “Get Counted” self-ID campaign allows employees to self-identify in areas such as disability, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, veteran status, sexual orientation, and personal pronouns.

This information provides an accurate view of our diverse workforce, so we can better customize, fund, and initiate specialized programming, accommodations, and strategies.

It also helps us remove barriers to access and opportunities, support underrepresented groups through our employee resource groups (ERGs) and Diversity Leadership Council initiatives, and identify challenges those groups face and then work to mitigate bias.

CSR Report

Paylocity published its second CSR report and created a cross-functional Diversity Leadership Council to drive DEIA across the organization.

B.R.I.D.G.E. Program

Paylocity built and produced the B.R.I.D.G.E. program to further our DEIA efforts. B.R.I.D.G.E. – which stands for Belonging, Respect, Inclusion, Diversity, Generosity, and Equity – has given us a brand to launch training through self-paced courses, knowledge briefs, and leadership roundtables. We launched our five self-paced courses to our employees and clients in January 2022.

Since launch, we have had over 50,000 courses assigned to client employees in our Learning Management System, which validates our belief that our clients want and need this type of content.

Now in 2023, we are designing our next phase of B.R.I.D.G.E., which will focus on creating safe spaces and providing new training on topics such as neurodiversity. This phase of B.R.I.D.G.E. will add to the catalog of more than 30 DEIA courses offered through our Learning Management System.

Paylocity won the Brandon Hall Gold Medal Award in 2022 for the “Best Learning Program that Supports and Promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” for the B.R.I.D.G.E. program.

Beyond training, Paylocity offers a range of other DEIA enhancements to its platform.

How Paylocity’s Platform Champions DEIA

Data Insights

Clients have access to Data Insights, including the ability to analyze trends based on employee self-identification data for tracking turnover rates, employees by pay type, overall headcount, and active employee data.

Compensation Tool

Paylocity’s Compensation Tool includes multiple D&I Reports that can be used to analyze pay equity using gender and ethnicity identity for average salary, average merit increase, and average bonus.

DEI Adoption Kits

Through our PEAK Knowledge Base, we offer DEI Adoption Kits for creating and activating DEI programs. The adoption kit walks clients through the process of creating a DEI program from getting executive buy in, development of an effective program to launching a customized plan.

Community

Clients are also rapidly adopting Paylocity communication and collaboration tools to spark conversations about topics related to DEIA. Community serves as one source for announcements, messaging, and group collaboration; Video helps employees have asynchronous dialogue quickly and easily; and Surveys are ideal for keeping a pulse on the efficacy of DEIA initiatives and overall employee sentiment.

These are just a few of the DEIA enhancements that help HR leaders create diverse cultures that welcome the whole employee, which can impact psychological safety, inclusion, and mental health. These factors lead to better engagement, retention, and productivity.

Both Paylocity’s people and its products are regularly recognized as outstanding in their field. Other recent company awards include Forbes’ Best Employers for Women and the Brandon Hall Excellence Award for Human Capital Management (HCM) Innovation.

As part of Paylocity’s commitment to its people, the company continually invests in holistic employee health and wellness programs, professional development and training, tuition assistance programs, competitive financial benefits, and much more. Learn more about career opportunities at Paylocity.
