Chris Christie, NJ Governor, reinstated the reciprocity agreement with Pennsylvania on November 22, 2016. As stated in a previous tax alert; the 40-year-old agreement between the states was set to terminate at the end of 2016, after the NJ governor announced in September that he would be ending the agreement to address a $250 million budget deficit.
Previously, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (DOR) issued information for residents addressing the termination of the reciprocity agreement and it is expected that the department will provide update guidance about the reinstatement soon. Employers are encouraged to visit the PA DOR website for updates.
