The California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Investment Board extended the deadline for employers with 100 or more employees to register with CalSavers, the state-run retirement program for employees whose employers do not offer a retirement plan to September 30, 2020.
Extension for Employers with 100 or More Employees
The extension will give employers until Sept. 30, 2020 to register with CalSavers; the deadline had been June 30, 2020. The extension is effective May 4, 2020 and does not change existing deadlines for 2021 or 2022. Employers with more than 50 employees have until June 30, 2021 to register, and employers with at least five employees have until June 30, 2022 to do so.
