Indiana Form UC-1 Updates

April 19, 2019

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development announced that all employers must file Form UC-1 and Form UC-5 reports electronically beginning with Q1 2019.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) has announced that the unemployment quarterly contribution (Form UC-1) and wage (Form UC-5) reports must be filed electronically by all employers, beginning with the first quarter 2019 reports.

UPLINK Employer Self-Service (ESS) portal

The DWD is also implementing a new design for its UPLINK Employer Self-Service (ESS) portal in the spring of 2019, a system that allows employers to electronically file Forms UC-1 and UC-5, and pay quarterly contributions, among other things.

The upcoming enhancements include combining Forms UC-1 and UC-5 into a single, consolidated quarterly wage report, fully integrating online payments, and providing an easy-to-use file format to upload wages.

Employers will no longer have to calculate or report excess or taxable wages and there will be an indicator for full-time, part-time, or seasonal employment, instead of just a seasonal code.

Form UC-1

Beginning in first quarter 2019, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development only requires a wage report to be filed with the agency. The UC-1 contribution report has become obsolete and replaced solely with the UC-5A wage reports. Therefore, the UC-1 will no longer be generated and included in the quarterly reports.

In addition, clients will no longer see copies of this form in their Web Pay Tax Company Package.
