Paylocity has been named an overall leader for all 12 HRIS product categories in the G2 Spring 2022 Grid Reports, marking the 14th straight quarter the company achieved its leader ranking. Paylocity added to its leadership position in the Enterprise segment with two new placements, including Corporate Learning Management and Performance Management.
Paylocity retained an overall 4.5 (out of 5) rating among nearly 2,000 client reviews, along with recognition as a leader in the Enterprise, Mid-Market and Small Business segments. The leader ranking was based on high levels of customer satisfaction and likeliness to recommend ratings from actual Paylocity users on G2, the world’s leading business solutions review website.
In the Enterprise segment, Paylocity was named a leader in eight categories: Payroll, Core HR, Benefits Administration, Onboarding, Workforce Management, Performance Management, Corporate Learning Management Systems, and Human Resource Management. Paylocity continues to expand its reach in the Enterprise space, having earned a Best Support badge for Enterprise Core HR.
"Paylocity is a one-stop shop for information, helps increase employee engagement, streamline information - especially to those without a company email, plus it helps keep employee information digital," Paylocity G2 reviewer Rachel Erickson said. "There are so many different options to utilize it for- employee encouragement and engagement, easily accessible benefits and paycheck information, employee and manager development, and more. Highly recommend this program for any company!"
Paylocity was ranked an overall leader in the following categories:
- Payroll
- Core HR
- Human Resource Management Systems
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Performance Management
- Time Tracking
- Onboarding
- Corporate Learning Management Systems
- Benefits Administration

- Workforce Management
“No HR leader is content with the status quo. They are always looking to create the optimal environment where every employee can be their best. It’s a journey that starts with streamlining processes, which frees up more time for attracting, retaining, and optimizing talent,” said Michael Haske, Paylocity President and COO. “We are honored to be on this journey with them, and knowing our efforts are paying off for them is an exhilarating feeling. These rankings inspire us to keep working and help every Paylocity customer keep moving forward.”
Streamline and Automate Manual Tasks
Paylocity’s Core HR tools help companies streamline their HR processes using modern, mobile-enabled HR technology that saves time by automating key processes. The platform automates tasks like leave tracking, OSHA safety tracking and reporting. Clients also appreciate tracking headcount and status for positions, viewing data to drive business decisions, and collecting employee documents all in one place.
"The platform is intuitive and user-friendly, especially for an HR and payroll novice. The various modules allow me to automate previously cumbersome processes such as Onboarding and Open Enrollment," Paylocity G2 Reviewer Suzanne Walden-Wells said. "The site is visually appealing, inviting, and interactive for users. Integration with other platforms is another big plus. Looking forward to integrating more functionality soon."
Attract and Retain Talent
Automation alone isn’t enough to get companies where they want to go, because traditional HCM software was designed to get employees to complete HR transactions, rather than give them what they want and need. Today’s always-connected employees want to belong and feel a part of something, and they increasingly expect a work experience that resembles the apps and technologies they use in their personal lives. These needs come to life in the competitive job market, where employers are finding better ways to make a powerful first impression and connect with candidates from the start.
Paylocity clients have reported great results engaging candidates with automated recruiting and onboarding software. They rely on human elements offered on the platform such as video job postings and text messaging to convey information while also providing a glimpse of their leaders and culture. And when new employees start, invitations to groups on Community and regular surveys make them feel welcome—even before day one.
“We've freed up more than 100 hours per year by automating most of the recruiting and onboarding process, and employee requests overall dropped 75%,” Jaime Freeman, NWEA Director of HR and Total Rewards said. “More importantly, with significantly fewer errors and less manual administrative tasks, we're making more of a strategic impact across the organization.”
Build Culture and Connection
It is more important than ever to deliver an employee experience that meets employees where they are, and lets them experience their company’s values. Modern employees want to grow and be successful, and they crave collaboration, communication, and connection along the way. These needs were accelerated by the pandemic and proven by The Great Resignation.
Reviewers using Paylocity features such as Community, Premium Video and Impressions are creating a better sense of belonging for their employees. And new features across the platform to enable Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility are making an impact.
“The way we are using Community really helps reinforce the most important aspects of our culture – the idea that we are all in it together and part of a close-knit community,” TruCut HR Manager Mike Lesch said.
Consistent Performance Across Markets
Beyond seeing increasing momentum in the Enterprise segment, Paylocity's rankings in the mid-market have remained consistently strong for more than three years. And once again, the company achieved similar Leader ratings for the small business segment in 11 areas.
In addition, Paylocity was named a Momentum Leader in 11 categories, recognizing its fast growth while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Momentum leaders are ranked in the top 25% of their category's products.
