July 2024 releases: Mobile onboarding, automated new hire announcements, enhanced Recognition & Rewards capabilities, and more.

As we navigate and adapt to the modern era of HR, employee experience and retention have taken center stage. In July, we launched a range of features designed to simplify HR processes and elevate employee experience to help take your company to the next level.

Complete onboarding tasks on-the-go

In addition to desktop, now, new hires can easily complete pre-boarding tasks at their convenience in the Paylocity Mobile App. They can seamlessly acknowledge handbooks, sign and upload compliance documentation, and set up their direct deposit. A guided process ensures a smooth and efficient onboarding experience, making the transition into their new role both quick and stress-free.

Automate new hire announcements

Seamlessly welcome new employees to your team with Community’s automated new hire announcements. These announcements are pre-populated with details like first and last name, title, start date, and reporting manager. From here, you can post the announcement as is or edit it to include or exclude information like photos or videos. Of course, the announcements are optional.

Make it more fun for employees to recognize each other

Elevate your employee recognition efforts by attaching photos, GIFs, and videos directly to recognition posts, creating more personalized and engaging shoutouts.

Additionally, you can now access detailed boost activity history directly in Recognition & Rewards! Boosting activity provides you with details of recognition that has been “boosted” with Reward Bucks, including who boosted the recognition, who received it, the amount, date, and more. You can also see detailed administrative activities such as pre-fund dates, amounts, and users, as well as monitor your personal rewards activities.

Simplify interview scheduling

Say goodbye to back and forth of scheduling an interview; seamless integration with Gmail, iCloud and Outlook calendars empowers you to effortlessly access interviewers' availability. Send calendar invites with video conferencing links and documents like resumes and interview guides. Two-way synchronization makes it simple to update or cancel an event.

Empower employees with flexible training session selection

Allow employees to choose a live training session time that best fits their schedule. Instead of assigning specific sessions to each employee, easily send a notification allowing them to pick the most convenient session based on their availability. This will give your employees more autonomy and flexibility as well as increase attendance and engagement in training programs.

Streamline the payroll submission process

Decide whether batch approvals are a necessary step before submitting payroll for your company. By disabling the payroll approval process when processing the most current check date, you can submit payroll any time after all audits are cleared. It's important to note this feature is not automatically enabled; you will have to modify your configuration to bypass the batch approval step.

Enhance organization, improve user experience, and increase customization with new journal capabilities

Easily assign a journal template to a specific category for better organization and management. And you can now filter by the specific category you assigned your template when searching within Performance, making it easier to manage and locate specific types of journals.

Provide employees explanatory text to read when creating the journals and gather more structured responses by using three new input types within journal templates: paragraph, single select, and multi-select. The paragraph input type includes a rich-text editor for detailed descriptions, while the single select and multi-select options allow you to add/remove items from the list of selections or enable the “Other” response. Additionally, our new journal preview functionality allows you to see what your journal template looks like during the creation or editing process to easily confirm the design and layout before deploying.

Have greater visibility into overtime

Automatically receive notifications when employees approach various types of overtime such as weekly, daily, or holiday so you can take proactive measures to prevent unnecessary overtime. The overtime insights dashboard also now shows a comprehensive view of overtime data, including current and projected overtime for all overtime types.
