Position Overview 

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for the delivery, operating and scaling of security capabilities across the organization. You will act as a cloud security expert within a growing, collaborative team?in?a cutting-edge Human Capital Management tech company. You’ll keep abreast of the latest technologies in a hands-on role that also provides a unique opportunity to shape the future direction and design of our systems.?The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and the opportunity to play a foundational role in a new team, is self-motivated, and has great communication skills.  

Primary Responsibilities  

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for the delivery, operating and scaling of security capabilities across the organization with strong subject matter expertise designing and building solutions in AWS. This includes leading technical implementations, working cross-functionally with infrastructure, system, application and architecture teams to better the security posture of the organization.  

Objective Areas: 

• Develop innovative security controls to protect assets across large and complex AWS, Azure and GCP environments. 
• Excellent knowledge of cloud-native security tools and features, along with experience in configuring and managing security infrastructure in the cloud. 
• Build and operationalize a wide and interesting range of security platforms and systems. 
• Implement security orchestration and automation in support of security operations. 
• Consult with internal teams on architecture and system designs.  
• Ability to Conduct risk assessments and security audits of cloud environments, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing remediation strategies. 
• Support cross-functional security initiatives with internal teams. 

Platform and Tools: 

• You will need experience in implementing and managing the following platforms and tools: 
• Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Experience with IaC - CloudFormation, AWS CDK
• Cloud Security Posture Management (Wiz, CrowdStrike)
• Good knowledge of Python scripting
• Active Directory
• Data Loss Prevention (ProofPoint, Symantec, Varonis, etc.)
• DNS Filtering and Web Proxies (Cisco, Zscaler, etc.)
• Docker Containers & Kubernetes
• Email Security (ProofPoint, Mimecast, etc.)
• Endpoint Detection & Response (Microsoft ATP, CrowdStrike, etc.)
• Network Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, etc.)
• Privileged Access Management (PAM)
• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
• Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP)
• Vulnerability Management (Tenable, Qualys, etc.)
• Web Application Firewalls (F5 ASM, Imperva, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Solid understanding of NIST Cybersecurity and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks. 
• Working ability to write scripts and automation. This includes parsing log data (i.e. RegEx, XML, etc.) 
• Ability to self-teach technical concepts in security and apply them in real world scenarios.  
• Great communication skills with the ability to build strong cross-team relationships.  

Education and Experience 

• Bachelor's Degree in InfoSec, Computer Science, or related preferred?  
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Security
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Security Engineer with a focus on securing cloud workloads and associated infrastructure 
• Strongly prefer at least 1 relevant security related certification. Examples of relevant security related certification are as follows:
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect 
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty 
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• GIAC Security Expert (GSE)
• GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA)
• Computer Security Incident Handler (CSIH)
• GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
• GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $123,575 - $164,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
