Position Overview

The Client Funds Accounting Analyst is responsible for reconciling all client held funds accounts for Paylocity. You will play a crucial role in monitoring our cash position, supporting various treasury functions. Responsibilities will include cash forecasting, bank account reconciliation, supporting and developing Specialists, while mitigating risk and protecting our cash. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 


Performance Objectives

The below represents the primary responsibilities of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

  • Analyze overall client balances and determine whether sufficient funds exist and assist with debt-management activities.
  • Assists Specialists and Senior Specialists with reconciliation complexities and issues.
  • Review and approve daily exception reporting and provide valuable insights and learning opportunities to the team and fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate the bank reconciliation process.
  • Perform daily/weekly reconciliation for payroll/tax/benefit accounts with a higher level of complexity, proactively research and communicate issues within the team and cross functionally, and drive towards timely resolution.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasting and analysis, providing insights and recommendations and investment opportunities.
  • Regularly provides guidance and training to team for technical development.
  • Support treasury-related projects, such as system implementations and work towards a goal of continued process improvements.
  • Work closely with the Banking/Tax Treasury/TPA and Finance teams to coordinate fixes to system as needed and provides recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance daily reporting, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • A key player in supporting a timely, accurate and reliable month-end close.
  • Report payroll, tax, and benefit exceptions to partners for review and resolution.
  • Provide suggestions and writes procedures to enhance overall process.
  • Review and complete a full analysis of Client Credits requests in order to confirm funds available and minimizing risk.
  • Monitor Salesforce queue and distribute accordingly.
  • Reconcile incoming Wires/ACH’s for payroll/tax accounts.
  • Supports Client Services inquiries.
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects, as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • +4 years’ experience in payroll service or banking operations.
  • +3 years in service bureau account reconciliations.
  • MasterTax, WEX, CobraPoint experience.
  • Advanced money movement knowledge.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll, tax, and benefits service bureaus.
  • Strong team and individual work ethic preferred.
  • Strong analytical, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex data.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency level of experience with MS applications.
  • High level of integrity.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $43,800 - $69,600/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
