Position Overview
The Market Sales Manager is a member of the Major Market sales leadership team. The role is
responsible for overseeing the sales operations, developing strategies to achieve sales targets,
and managing key accounts. This role requires strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a
proven track record in sales management.

Role Expectations
- Lead and Motivate: Manage and inspire a team of sales representatives to achieve sales goals and objectives.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and achieve company goals.
- Sales Performance: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to optimize sales effectiveness across designated team.
- Execution of the 4 pillars; Staffing, Activity, Channels, BOP
o <34% turnover
o 100% Headcount
o Managing Activity to Paylocity KPI’s
o 20 Connections, 10 Partner Calls, 8 Hour Call Block, 3 Set FTA’s, 2 Ran FTA’s, 1 Demo per AE/week.
o 40%+ Channels Revenue
o Strategic focus on Partner Contacts and MoM growth of Referring and Closing Contacts
o 3 DFL Weekly (1 per AE)
- Plan, organize, direct and coach your major market sales staff to meet objectives.
- Teach and train Paylocity sales process to maximize your sales staff’s potential.
- Report weekly the team’s sales results for the month and for the quarter.
- Achieve forecasted sales by following (and, if necessary, adjusting) your written plan of action.
- Monitor each salesperson's weekly performance and compare it with that month's objective.
- Maintain contact with existing customers to determine needs for additional services.
- Attend Paylocity-sponsored trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote Paylocity services.
- Determine prospective customers’ needs for Payroll, Human Resources and more, then present Paylocity services to meet those needs for our major clients 50-500 employees.
- Travel within a defined, specific territory.
- Prepare and present proposals and provide appropriate follow-up throughout the sales process.
- Complete and obtain documentation required for the conversion of data from their previous payroll provider to the Paylocity system. Work directly with internal departments to
- Ensure the client has a smooth transition to their new payroll provider.
Education & Experience
- Experience with major account payroll, HR, time and attendance solutions and large, complex organizations.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of the Major Account Payroll space.
- Graduate of PCTY Sales Director Accelerator program preferred.
- Proven track record in mentoring a highly skilled, motivated, successful and results-oriented sales force
- Strong leadership qualities with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Willingness to travel and work in a virtual environment.
- Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.
- Able to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment
Physical Requirements
- Mobility required for sitting, standing and walking
- Mobility required for driving to prospective client sites
- Manual/finger dexterity required in both hands to operate computer keyboard and manipulate small objects
- Sensory ability required to see, hear and touch

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for our variable commission plan, annual bonus, and restricted stock until grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
