Position Overview:

This Compensation Business Partner owns compensation decisions for an assigned business unit within Paylocity. The person in this role has strong foundational Compensation experience and partners with HR Business Partners and decision makers bringing the Paylocity comp function to life. The person in this role is responsible for planning, managing, and executing broad-based compensation programs and projects including base salary, annual incentives, and rewards and recognition initiatives to meet business objectives and support our unique culture. Additionally, this position will partner with HR Business Partners, People Operations and Payroll to resolve day-to-day compensation matters and direct the implementation of various compensation programs. Compensation Business Partners may also own incentive design (including sales incentives), incentive plan documentation, governance, and policy development. Compensation Business Partners may also support other compensation functions such as modeling and analytics, Pay Equity and Executive, International and M&A Compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner across the business to develop and maintain compensation plans, programs, policies, and practices in areas such as: Market analysis, performance management, merit, bonus and compliance projects.
  • Provide effective research and recommendations regarding the company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job reviews and organizational structures.
  • Provide day-to-day consultation, analysis, and input to compensation strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and creates compensation models, reports and analysis used to analyze and support the appropriate compensation philosophy of the organization.
  • Makes recommendations for pay adjustments.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and uses competitive market data and knowledge of trends to participate in the design, development, execution, and administration of compensation covering all total compensation components.
  • Collaborates with HR colleagues and managers on compensation related solutions while ensuring the confidentiality and security of all internal and external compensation data.
  • Oversees the evaluation and audit of jobs to ensure correct FLSA status and compliance with all Department of Labor regulations.
  • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance in the United States and advises of any potential implication to company programs and policies.
  • Participates in and coordinates the implementation and communication of compensation plans and initiatives.
  • Manages compensation related projects, including but not limited to, annual merit and bonus process, benchmarking of HR policies, levelling of jobs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources, Finance, or other related discipline or equivalent years of experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 4 years of direct experience in Compensation.
  • Prior sales compensation experience strongly preferred. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and familiarity with HRIS operating software. MarketPay experience desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, project management and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed oriented with proven, excellent quantitative analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as needed
  • Ability to multi-task in a faced paced environment

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $77,900 - $120,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
