Paylocity’s push notifications, or webhook, is a notification system that is triggered by an event. When that event occurs, a JSON message containing information about the event is sent as a POST to a client specified endpoint URL over HTTPS. The HTTPS URL can have no authentication or basic authentication. Paylocity’s recommendation is to use the basic authentication to provide an additional level of security for data protection. We currently support the following automation triggers within our platform:
Streamline employee event occurrences with
instant notification mechanisms.
NEW HIRE EVENT
TIME OFF APPROVAL EVENT
In the event of a failed webhook request, Paylocity will attempt to retry the message up to three times in five minute intervals. If the request fails three times, the failure can be retried manually within the admin tools. Paylocity also logs all successful and failed notifications to provide the client full visibility into this product feature.
